The Battery division of Minda Industries Limited is engaged in manufacturing world-class Automotive Batteries for 2/3 wheelers and 4 wheeler vehicles. This division employs some of the world class technologies for manufacture of the Batteries catering to stringent requirements of leading Auto manufacturers. The mix of excellent resource planning, latest infrastructure, skilled manpower and high technological competence helps the company in its mission to manufacture globally competitive products.

This division of Minda has a state of the art, fully equipped manufacturing facility based at Pantnagar - Uttranchal and employs around 400 highly trained and motivated people.

Battery is the heart of every automobile and works under extreme conditions where the temperatures under the hood of the car may reach 150 degrees and atmospheric temperature in India ranges from 50 degrees in the plains/deserts to minus 10 degrees in certain mountainous regions. It has to operate under these difficult situations and has to perform at peak capacity throughout its operational life. Whether it is placed in motorcycles or cars, the Minda Battery performs to the maximum, providing complete customer satisfaction.

Specialized facilities for complete design and modification in the existing design are available at the Division, wherein the involvement of the company begins right from the time that the customer approaches Minda. As customers develop new user friendly features in their vehicles, the Division assists in simultaneously engineering and designing the Battery for vehicles.

The company has developed well-defined processes that minimize the lead time required for development. This is one of the few completely integrated facilities making all the input components in house to gain complete charge of the quality. Minda has complete know how to manufacture conventional Lead acid, to Maintenance Free and VRLA (Valve Regulated Lead Acid) batteries. A clearly defined road map identifies customer requirements, then moves to design right from the plate design. At Minda every new SKU is approached with fresh mindset and no readymade solutions are provided. Once the prototype has been developed, tooling, vehicle trials and fitments take place. Before mass production, engineering tests and prior runs ensure high quality products and optimization of resources.
